Great Bottom Fishing and even better Trolling

By Lanzarote Fishing | December 1, 2008

This last week, fishing in Lanzarote has improved quite a lot. Not so much on the Margarita, as we tried a couple of days to go out searching for marlin with no luck; but definitelly on the Katfish where both bottom fishing and coastal trolling have been very entertaining.

Wednesday, for instance, was a day where the biggest catch was a two and a half kilo couch’s sea bream, however we had an excellent day out as we fished plenty of white seabream, black bream and a one and a half kilo moray. All caught with dead bait (sardine and squid). You can see all the photos in the gallery.

Friday was even better, as we started off the day with a four kilo skipjack tuna while trolling. Once anchored, we had lots of couch’s sea bream, black bream and even a two kilo moray. But the best was still to come, as when we were trolling back to Puerto Calero, we caught a twenty five kilo wahoo and four atlantic bonito of about three kilo each (shame we lost one when we try to gaff it).
