December fishing in Lanzarote
By Lanzarote Fishing | December 11, 2008
Just like we’ve been doing these last few weeks, we’ve been alternating our fishing trips between our two boats, the Margarita and the Katfish. We finished november in the Margarita with one of the most popular catches of the month, a wahoo. This time it was a twenty kilo piece caught by a russian angler in a very exciting fight.
Monday the 1st of december, on the other hand, wasn’t as good as we’ve just managed to get small fish while anchored in Papagayo. The most noticeable catch that day was a planehead filefish of just over a kilo. On the other hand, tuesday’s trolling on the Margarita was pretty good, as we had a couple of skipjack tuna and a fabulous albacore of 12 kilos.
The rest of the week was quite poor, due to the strong nort-east winds that made anchoring really difficult. In any case, we managed to get quite a few couch’s sea bream , moray and some small atlantic bonito while trolling.
