Wahoo!
By Lanzarote Fishing | September 3, 2008
Last friday we had a very nice catch on the Katfish. A Wahoo that weighted over 20 kilo and was caught while trolling to one of our usual anchoring spots. About 09:30 it was already hooked and after a classy fight of about 40 minutes, I finally gaffed the fish aboard. A beautiful catch of one of my favourite fish, not only because of the excellent fights it offers, but also because of how good it tastes on my barbequeue!. Luckily the fish was caught by client/friend who has been fishing with us quite a few times this summer, so he was very happy indeed.
That friday we also caught a butterfly ray of about eight kilos that proved to be a very entertaining catch too, plus the usual smaller fish.
Saturday was not as great, we only managed to get smaller fish (though loads of them) like Black Bream and Couch’s Bea Bream of less than one kilo. Monday we had a slightly better day: a three kilo atlantic bonito while trolling and a two kilo tuna using live bait, plus plenty of Red Bream and Marmora.
